Description:
These photos of Leia (the cat) are particularly precious as she was diagnosed with a serious heart condition a few weeks after we got her. Her prognosis is poor, and we may not have much time with her. The goal of this series is to capture her quiet beauty and contemplative nature. I decided to keep the shots very simple, with a dark background and plenty of negative space so that all the focus was on the cat. Update: My beautiful baby was put down on May 7th, 2008 just two days after her first birthday. This photo is my favorite image of her and shows her as I'll always remember her...beautiful and intelligent. Technical: Very basic set up - Nikon D70 with an attachable flash, natural light (from windows and skylights), a dark blanket as a backdrop, a cat, and lots of time. Post processing was minor. |

As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board.
